NdFeB magnets
Product overview
Neodymium magnets, also known as NdFeB magnets, are tetragonal crystals composed of neodymium, iron and boron (Nd2Fe14B).In 1982, Masato Sagawa of Sumitomo Special Metals discovered the neodymium magnet. The magnetic energy product (BHmax) of this magnet is greater than that of samarium cobalt magnet, which is the material with relatively large magnetic energy product at that time.Later, Sumitomo Special Metals developed a successful powder metallurgy process, and General Motors successfully developed a rotary spray smelting process to produce NdFeB magnets. This type of magnet is second only to holmium magnet in magnetism today, and is also the most commonly used rare earth magnet.NdFeB magnets are widely used in electronic products such as hard drives, mobile phones, earphones and battery-powered tools.
